Peter had placed restrictions on the gospel. These restrictions were based upon his incomplete picture of what God was to accomplish. Many times we place these restrictions upon the mission God has given us. These restrictions may include our talents (or lack of), our knowledge (or lack of), or our willingness (yup, or lack of). God graciously walked Peter through a process of revealing that salvation is to be made available for all peoples; every nationality. The gospel is for those whom God has prepared to hear and receive regardless of bloodline. Peter thought God was first for the Jews and to be Christian, you must first become a Jew. God had other plans in mind. Acts 10 gives us the account of God walking Peter through this radical revelation that gospel is for all men.
