John 4:43-5:15 | Restoration | Nov. 18, 2018

Jon Clemence continues the series in John with a portrait of Jesus healing two different people. First a gentile leaders son concludes a pattern we see of interaction between Jesus and a Jewish leader (Nicodemus), a Samaritan woman, and a gentile ruler similarly to his command to his followers to witness in Jerusalem, Judea/Samaria, and the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8). The healing of the lame man begins the growing conflict between Jesus and the Jewish authorities within John’s gospel account. This theme will continue to grow as Jesus continues his ministry according to John’s gospel.
