Jonah chapter 2 reveals to us how prayer is a last resort to those whom God’s word is in their heads, but not in their hearts. This week we examine Jonah’s prayer from inside the belly of the great fish and ask a few questions the text inspires. What does genuine repentance look like? How do we know if our repentance, or our faith for that matter, is genuine? What does Jonah reveal to us about the condition of the heart when God’s grace is easily received for himself, but begrudged when extended to others.
