Before Exodus launches into the account of God’s justice upon rebellious Pharaoh, God reminds us that he is a personal God who knows us by name. His judgement is not void of his love and mercy. Nor does he enact judgement from apathy. God knows the name of each person, he knows our story, and in his judgement and in his mercy, he remains the same in his character and nature. “I AM WHO I AM” God declared to Moses, and now he begins to demonstrate who he is.
